Granite - Conclusion
In Rajasthan the production of
granite is only a fraction of the vast granite mass occurrences in the State. Reserve estimates have been made only in very selected areas and due attention has not been given for making systematic reserve estimation. This is correct time to take up a scheme "Granite exploration in India" on large scale basis. This will certainly help in identifying the suitable areas for large block mining and ultimately will help in increasing revenue to the Government.
Ornamental polished slabs of
granite have wide applications ranging from use of monumental purposes, fencing, panelling and interior and exterior, skirting, mantels, windows sills, steps, concrete columns, kitchen sinks, bath tubs, flower vases and a number of other household and other purposes, for example the Rajmandir Cinema Hall at Jaipur has been mainly decorated with polished
granites, rhyolites and dolerite
slabs and has emerged as one of the most fascinating building in Asia.
Though in the
stone industry there is no substitute for granite, but today Polar's Villa Nova range of agglomerated
marble has affected the granite at a greater length in terms of aesthetic look, designs and colour availability.

Granite Edges
Whether stone is set on a cement base or laid in sand also depends on style. Stone's rounded and asymmetrical edges naturally lend themselves to creating flowing designs.
Granite Kitchen Island
The island granite is honed and color-enhanced for richness without sheen, which minimizes glare from overhead recessed lighting.
